Constant

I walked out of work a few nights ago and looked up, the stars were shining so brightly, they took my breath away.  I love the night sky when the air is cold and clear.  Usually by work, the glow is muted because of all the light pollution in the crowded area of Garden City, but for some reason this night the sky sparkled.  I felt God's Presence. 

Constant.  That is our God.  Everlasting.  That is our God.  Unchanging.  That is our God.  In the darkness of a pandemic or in the crazy roller coaster of  daily life, our Lord doesn't change.  He always loves, always understands, always cares for us.  His hold on us does not lessen, His love for us does not fail.  Like the stars, we may see Him differently at times, or sometimes not at all...but His heart remains the same and He is there behind the clouds.   Whether I or my loved ones stay well or get sick, I know His hands will not let me or them go.  Increase our faith through this Lord! 

Lord, You know the terror and sadness gripping the world today.  We hear new reports, more getting sick.  It's hard for us to focus on the good, those getting well, and there are many, many people getting well.  The media only puts the worst in front of us.  They don't put those helping.  They don't put those healing.  And they certainly don't put out the fact that You are in control and Your love sustains us.  But those two things are more true than anything else we can see.  We are scared.  We are unsure.  And some of us are sick.  Lord, help us to remember Your love.  Help us to see Your Presence and tender care in all of this.  Help us to share that with others.  And Lord, yes, bring us a cure, bring an end to this illness. Lord, comfort and sustain those who are sick.  Bring healing to their bodies, peace to their hearts.  Let them sense Your Presence and Your care.  Let Your children be shining lights, like the stars in these dark times, sharing Your love, peace and kindness.  Lord, help us.  We trust You.  No matter what happens, it is well with our souls, because You keep us for eternity.
