Psalm 143:8 Let me hear of Your unfailing love to me in the morning. For I am trusting You to show me where to walk. For I have come to You in prayer.
This verse has been playing over in my head since last week when I included it in a previous post. I guess you could say I've been meditating on it.
God loves to shower us with His love. Much like I love expressing my love to my furry children (four cats), He wants to show us His love as well....even more so. What I've been getting while mulling this verse over though is that we have to keep our eyes and hearts open to see His love in action each day. I'm thinking we miss a lot of examples because we have our own expectations of what our Lord's love should look like. Just a thought.
Lord, keep our hearts open to Your love today. Let this be our prayer everyday. Let not our own expectations and stubborn thoughts blind us to the true love You pour out on our lives each moment. Thank You for Your great love.
Let go of Your thoughts of how the Father should love you and let Him show you His perfect love in His perfect ways.
I found this unpublished entry and as I read it I felt that for the new year ahead it would be a good idea to pray for open hearts to see God's love more and more. Maybe even make it a "New Year's resolution!"
