Personal Walk, Part 2, from Mom

Mom wrote out some more Scriptures that she knew would help her in her personal walk with Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:16 tells us, "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right."  Enjoy these verses and sections my Mom pulled out for her own journey with Jesus.

Self examination is necessary.  Search me, Oh God....point out anything offensive and lead me in the pathway of everlasting life.

Psalm 139-23-24  Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Psalm 51:11  Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.

Discipline my mind, meditate on God.  He will bless me with spiritual benefits in increased discernment and a clear sense of purpose.

Seek God.  Seek His ways.  Praise God.

1 Kings 3:9  Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?”
The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for wisdom.  So God replied, “Because you have asked for wisdom in governing my people with justice and have not asked for a long life or wealth or the death of your enemies—  I will give you what you asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as no one else has had or ever will have!

1 Kings 3:14  And if you follow me and obey my decrees and my commands as your father, David, did, I will give you a long life.”

Galatians 2:20  My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Proverbs 3:6  Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Put on Jesus daily.  Look into the book of Ecclesiastes.  God hears our every word.  Be quick to listen.  Be slow to speak.  Walk softly before the Lord.

From me.

Being in the Word, looking to Jesus, "putting Him on," daily, frequently throughout the whole day...this is the way to have a vibrant, victorious walk with God.  We cannot do it alone.  We cannot do it though self-help books, self-improvement programs....anything the world has to offer.  I believe that is why Mom put so much Scripture in this journal entry....it's where our strength comes from, what changes our hearts desire from the things of the flesh and the world, to the things of God.  It changes us....He changes us.  As I was skimming over Ecclesiastes, I was getting excited to get into this little book....I had forgotten how great it was!  I want to be on fire and filled with joy as I journey this path toward heaven.  That only comes through being with the Lord.

Lord, set each of us on fire for you....give us a burning yearning!  Change us, lead us, fill us and use us.  Let our walk with You display Your glory to all who we come in contact with.  Thank You.  In Jesus' Name.  Amen.

Get into these Scriptures!
