Small Counts

Today is the first birthday in heaven of a little baby named Ryleigh Jean.  My oldest and dearest friend's daughter gave birth to her last year, and even though Ryleigh looked perfect, her first and only home was Heaven.  It's there she lives with Jesus waiting for the day when we all get there to meet her.  In Ryleigh's memory her Mom has asked that everyone do a random act of kindness today. 


I heard this song for the first time today and it reminded me of those little acts of kindness and how important they are.  My Mom was great at this....noticing the small needs of those around her and making it her business to fill that need.  And so it is in Ryleigh's memory that I write this entry today and share this song in the hopes of encouraging all of us to look out for one another.  Be kind.  Do the little thing for someone that only you can do. 

Lord, I lift up my friends Denise and Lauren to you today and ask you to be with them, hold them in your arms as even this moment you hold Ryleigh.  Comfort them and stay by their side.  In Your holy and precious Name Lord Jesus.  Amen.
