Sunday's sermon was on the 23rd Psalm. And as our Deacon expounded upon this Psalm, telling us how he prayed through this Psalm and made it his own, God opened my heart to take in this teaching and His Word in a way I hadn't seen before.
Through obedience and following God's guidance, everything need we have is met and Psalm 23 spells that out. We are not promised a life of ease, but a life of God's Presence and loving care for each of our days. How amazing is God's Word!
Lord, thank You for this wonderful Psalm. Thank You for putting it in a new light for me. I pray for each of us, that this Psalm will find it's home in our hearts and cause us to yearn for a closer walk with You. It's a beautiful look into a life lived in Your will. I praise You today!
Spend some time in the 23rd Psalm. Make it your own.
Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
5 You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever.
