I don't know who needs to hear this today, but it's a good reminder for all of us. God values you, and me and each person He has created.
We are doing a study called Culture Shock by Chip Ingram. In this study we a few different social issues of our time and find out how God's sees these things and how to address these topics with those who disagree with a Biblical worldview.
In today's topic on abortion we learned how God sees each human being. And the Bible verses really spoke to me about how valuable each and everyone of us are to our Father. If you've had an abortion, you have to realize that God loves you perfectly. You are not beyond that love. If you know someone who has had one, perhaps you can share that message of God's love and forgiveness with them. We all have fallen short of the glory of God in one way or another. Psalm 86:5-7 You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you. Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my cry for mercy. In the day of my trouble I will call to You, for You will answer me. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
But I digress. It's the Bible verses that came with this study that resonated with my heart. They are the message we all need to hear and remember. God sees value and worth in each and everyone of us.
Let's see these verse that give show us God's heart toward us.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them.
Psalm 139:13-16 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
Jeremiah 31:3 Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.
1 Corinthians 6:20 You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
Mark 10:45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many.
Created in God's image. Thoughtfully and skillfully woven together. Loved with an eternal love. Bought at the price of Jesus' blood. Ransomed by the Son of God.
Amazing! That is how much God loves you. Receive and cling to that love. The devil may come and say "You don't deserve it." He may whisper in your ear "You've gone too far, done too many things wrong, horrible things that cannot be forgiven." Lies. He is a liar. John 8:44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. You are valuable and precious to our heavenly Father. And nothing and no one can separate you from His love. Romans 8:35-39 35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So the next time Satan comes around telling you that you're worthless or no good, God couldn't possibly love or want you...You answer Him with God's Word. You cling to the truth and reject the lies that try and bind your heart. God thought you were worth dying for!
Lord, thank You. A million times thank You. We are so lowly, yet You love us. So falliable, yet You embrace us. So prone to wander, yet You died for us. That we are so precious to You, that we are Your treasure...amazes and thrills me. Lord, help us to believe the truth of Your Word over the lies of the enemy, no matter how many times we've heard those lies. I pray this in Jesus Name. Amen.
Write out these and other Scriptures about your worth to God. Use them as a shield against the fiery darts of the enemy.
