Cathedral

My husband and I went on a hike yesterday through one of the nearby parks in middle Tennessee.  I looked at the towering trees spanning every direction around me, heard only the quiet rush of a stream nearby and smelled the scented air of Autumn and thought to myself, "this is God's cathedral."  I wish I could adequately describe this moment in my heart when all felt as worship.  This place was a testimony to the Lord, that moment in time a hymn.  I think I could have fallen on my knees and stayed there in glorious worship forever.

Psalm 19 1-6 The heavens declare the glory of God;  and the firmament shows His handiwork.  2 Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge.  3 There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard.  4 Their line has gone out through all the earth,  And their words to the end of the world.  In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race.  6 Its rising is from one end of heaven, and its circuit to the other end; and there is nothing hidden from its heat.

David's words came alive in my heart in the middle of this forest and even now when I think of it I get butterflies in my stomach and a thrill in my heart.  Our God is an awesome God!

The next two days there will be a show in the heavens.  Tonight and into the morning we have the Leonid meteor showers and tomorrow there will be a lunar eclipse.  God's wonder on display for us to see!  He's amazing.  And deserving of all our praise.

Psalm 8  O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!  2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, because of Your enemies, that You may silence the enemy and the avenger.  3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?  5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor.  6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, 7 all sheep and oxen—Even the beasts of the field, 8 The birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. 9 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!

He is so worthy.  I want to capture these small moments in my heart and hold onto them.  Lord, truly You are wonderful in this place.

Take time to praise and worship, every day.

Lord I just worship You.  You are amazing.  Help us to look up, look around, and look at Your awesomeness, the wonder of You.  No matter where we are, You are there, You are with us.  You are our God and our Savior.

Worship our God!
