Disbelief makes the grace of God meaningless. Do negate His beautiful grace with an unbelieving heart. (I have a bad tendency to do this a little too often)
Seek to do good. Seek to be a blessing. In doing so we overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. When we bless others, not only do we overcome the negativity around us, we overcome sin within ourselves.
This is a favorite! Be defiant! I've learned that part of the definition of defiant is uncooperative. We are to be uncooperative with Satan's plans. Defy the enemy! When we refuse to go along with the devil's plans, any negative options or thoughts that present themselves to us in our relationships with God, others or ourselves, we defeat him. Be defiant!
Romans 5:11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because of our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. We are God's friends. He is not our enemy and we are not His. Friends are for each other.
Victory over my sin is assured. Don't lose hope. Romans 5:17 or the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. This verse doesn't say "might" live in triumph, it says "WILL." Receive the gift of triumph! God says we live in it!
God fulfills His own promises in His own timing and in His own way. When we humans try to rush His hand, it will not bring positive results. Our attempts to fulfill the Lord's promises bring failure and enslavement. Galatians 4:22-26 22 The Scriptures say that Abraham had two sons, one from his slave wife and one from his freeborn wife. 23 The son of the slave wife was born in a human attempt to bring about the fulfillment of God’s promise. But the son of the freeborn wife was born as God’s own fulfillment of his promise. 24 These two women serve as an illustration of God’s two covenants. The first woman, Hagar, represents Mount Sinai where people received the law that enslaved them. 25 And now Jerusalem is just like Mount Sinai in Arabia, because she and her children live in slavery to the law. 26 But the other woman, Sarah, represents the heavenly Jerusalem. She is the free woman, and she is our mother.
These little God visits are part of the connection, the constant communication we desire with our Lord. They are so wonderful. I love these tidbits of teaching that pack such immense love in them. Anyone of them can be life changing when applied to our hearts and lives.
Thank You Lord for the constant companionship and everlasting love that flows from Your throne into our hearts and lives. I am so blown away that You seek to communicate with us fallen, wayward people. Give us open hearts and submissive spirits to follow Your lead. Thank You that You are always available and always involved. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Pray daily to be open to the Lord's voice.
