The "alarming" experiment is working wonderfully! I have been so excited with the results over the last two days. Not alone am I expressing thanks or praise when the alarm goes off once an hour, I am actually being made more aware of being thankful and am doing it even without the alarm. This is truly an amazing experience.
Small things, creature comforts, spiritual growth, Scriptural truths, God's character, salvation, heaven, friends, family, daily blessings.....on and on and on the thankfulness goes. It doesn't matter whether I name five things at a time or only one or two...it's helping me see in a different way, a positive way...looking for blessings instead of allowing the negative, the annoyances, the stress producers to drag me down. It feels like something has just clicked.
I pray that you have been trying this as well....whatever "gratitude reminder" you chose to use. The fact that even after two days my peace and joy have already increased , I can only imagine what it will feel like after thirty days.
When a negative comment or irritation rise up, I am being convicted quickly as well, setting that sort of thing aside and finding something to be thankful for.
Lord, thank You for this wonderful idea. I pray all of us will keep going forward in it and not lose momentum through laziness, or distraction. Keep us going Lord! You bless us in thousands of different ways, and I want to see each one! Let this be a wonderful new way for each of us, to live in a place of thankfulness, praise, peace and joy. You are worthy! In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Enjoy gratitude!
