Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24
Servants, do what you’re told by your earthly masters. And don’t just do the minimum that will get you by. Do your best. Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ. The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn’t cover up bad work. Colossians 3:23-25
This is the verse that was on my devotional reading that I read just after I did Thursday's blog. Hmmm....the word is coming in loud and clear!
Work as worship, whether it's out in the workplaces, or in the home, in the church...it's all done as an unto our Lord. It's all to be honoring Him, glorifying Him and pleasing Him. Each and every job we do is to be a reflection of our love for God and His love in us. Oh, that I would have my life shining this truth! I feel so far from it! I am so far from it.
Lord, help me. Help all of us to worship You in all things. You are the giver of strength, the giver of love, the giver of joy. Every step we take is a testament to Your amazing-ness, help us to bring those steps, each moment to You as a living sacrifice. Lord, I want Your character to color my words, my actions and my life. I long for Your love's touch to be upon each minute of my day, broadcasting Your goodness and Your kind heart. Help us all to worship You in spirit and in truth. You are worthy of all worship and all praise. Thank You for giving us life. For giving us salvation. For loving us. In Jesus Name. Amen.
