Godliness, From Mom

Godliness is:  living by God's Spirit, living in the fear of God, living under the eye of God, living according to the will of God and with an uninterrupted consciousness of God's indwelling presence.

Godliness is:  love, obedience, unity.

Seed time, my life is my seed time.  To live in godliness we must be in prayer.  Pray in agreement with God's will.  1 John 5:14-15  And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him.  And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for.  And we must be in the Scripture.  It is meant to give us protection, correction and direction.  2 Timothy 3:16-17  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.  It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.  God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.

We all need to be striving for a godly life, a God glorifying life.  Staying in contact with our God, through consistent prayer, and  spending time in His Word we will find ourselves shining brighter and brighter for our Lord. These are the seeds we sow to reap godliness in our lives.  Sometimes I forget to do these things, and I believe that is where the struggle starts. I do my "God time" in the morning then walk out the room and in about five minutes I lose what I learned and then get so caught up in the day I forget to go back to Him.  Bible verses on index cards that we can carry around is a great way to stay in the Word throughout the day.  Add some quick and frequent prayers for help, for guidance and strength to live a godly lifestyle.  Getting caught up in the world is so easy, we seem to slide right into place with what goes on around us...but maybe making a practice of prayer and Scripture will help us no fit in so easily with the world.

Lord, I know I need constant reminders to stay in contact with You.  I pray that You give those reminders that we all so desperately need and desire.  Be glorified in my life, in all our lives.  Let us show the difference of being Your child.  

Look up and write our a few Scriptures today that you can carry with you.  Meditate on them often throughout your day.
