Good Words!

Wise people treasure knowledge, but the babbling fool invites disaster.  Proverbs 10:14. This verse is my "verse of the year!"  If you recall, last week I shared God's growth plan for my new year...words and ideas written on the first page of my brand new 2017 notebook as it were.  Well, over the weekend the Lord turned the page of that new, clean, white notebook and we wrote that verse out as our heading on page two.

I'm back to words again.  My assignment for this year is to let less negativity in any form pass by my lips.  And this verse gives a good reason why we should all practice this....negative babbling brings destruction and disaster to one's life.  It's almost as if we call these things into our worlds as we permeate the air around us with complaints, judgments, gossip, and gloomy predictions.  Kind of a scary thought, huh?

Staying in God's Word, treasuring it in my heart, listening to His voice and letting Him decide what is to be spoken and what is to be discarded before it ever makes it from my brain to my mouth is a discipline I desire to cultivate this year. Oh boy, tall order!  But the Bible tells us in Philippians 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.  A challenge for sure....complaining and cynical words seem to be a stronghold and a habit in my life.  But Jesus is the chain breaker!  In Him is freedom.  And I plan on living there!

Lord equip me with all I need for doing Your will.  Produce in me, through the power of Jesus Christ every good thing that is pleasing to You...all glory to You forever and every!  Amen.  (based on Hebrews 13:21)   Lord, transform me into Your image, from glory to glory, by the power of Your Holy Spirit.  (based on 2 Corinthians 3:18)  Let my life bring You honor.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Work God's plan for you today!
