Some More Faith, From Mom

Mark 4:40  But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful?  How is that you have no faith?

Mark 4:24  Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear.  With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.

Whatever things, apply this principle to every aspect of our lives.  The only restrictions are that our faith be in God and in our loving Father and in alignment with His will and Word.  Never, no never, doubting in our hearts.

Mark 11:24  Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Think on this truth -- Doubt and do without, with faith, believe and receive.   Expect a miracle!  Expectancy opens you life to God.

Hebrews 12:1-12  Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the same, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.  You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:  My son do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; for whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.  If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?  But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.  Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect.  Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?  For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.  Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.  Therefore strengthen the hands which hand down and the feeble knees...

"Truth in Action:  look at nothing but Jesus.  Embrace God's training through discipline, know it produces peace and righteousness."

From me:

Mom's entry on faith is really challenging me and stirring up seeds that have been in the dark soil of my heart....sometimes we forget the early lessons, and need a fresh reminder,...and that is where I am at.  Faith is easy when things are going the way we like, when our emotions are up and even...but when we sail upon the rough seas of turmoil, and difficulties, the bills pile up,the body hurts, relationships are strained, the way is unclear...that's when we so easily toss our faith aside and shout at the heavens.  But it is those times when our faith is tested, refined.  The Lord's discipline. We sit in the boat with Him, amid the storm...He may seem to be asleep, but He is not.  The storm and the boat are in His hands, and it is exactly the rocking we need to take us from the shallow waters of human understanding and into the deep seas of His perfect will.  But oh, how hard it is to sail through!  I finally seemed to be getting to a more comfortable place financially lately....not great, but a little nest egg was starting to grow and then....dentist bills, household repairs, vet bill....you get the picture. And so, once again I am faced with a depleted bank account.  Faith stretching 101 once again!  God is in control and God is good, even when it doesn't go the way I want or think.

Lord, it is so difficult for us to have faith, to trust in what we cannot see.  But help us to remember how truly good and loving You are....nothing, not any little thing in our lives is designed for our destruction or harm.  You only want good for us.  Increase our faith.  Let us remember, the more we use it, the stronger it gets.  And it's not faith in ourselves, our finances, our abilities, but in You, in Your loving care, Your wisdom and Your character....faith in who You are.

What area of your life can you start believing for today?
